My name is Meghan Clifford and I am a photographer from Long Island, New York.  I started pursuing photography in 2019 as a wave photographer,  as a way to deal with immense grief.  It started as a curiosity to capture the classic wave curl shot during summer, and when winter rolled around I found I did not want to leave the water.  Now I capture wave images both in and out of the ocean in all seasons, with water temperatures ranging all the way down into the 30s. I aim to share views of the ocean that some people might not get to experience, as well as the emotional connection that comes from being close to the natural power of the ocean.  

I have since expanded my artistic journey to include other subjects, with a strong focus on the natural world.  I can be inspired by the quietness of a winter street, or the contrasts of a spring garden, or even the way the sun hits an open gate.  I believe that there is so much magic in the world and I enjoy capturing and sharing these wonders with people.
